This webinar discusses general technical information for adsorption of PFAS, TOC, and other target organic contaminants from water using powdered activated carbon (PAC) or granular activated carbon (GAC) treatments. Adsorption techniques are key in removing organic contaminants such as TOC, cyanotoxins, 2-MIB, geosmin, and PFAS compounds from source waters. Management of the activated carbon process helps to optimize carbon usage while achieving the expected water quality.

Atie Amirgol is a Success Manager at Fontus Blue. She holds a PhD degree in Civil Engineering with focus on multi-optimization of water treatment processes and she has extensive experience in evaluation and analysis of powdered activated carbon products. As a success manager, Atie utilized her expertise in water treatment to support clients achieve and maintain their exceptional water treatment goals.

Marvin Gnagy, PE

Marvin Gnagy, PE is a certified water operator and a registered professional engineer with 46 years of experience in water unit processes, treatment operations, and distribution system operations. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical and Environmental Engineering and has been along-time water process instructor, operations consultant, and optimization specialist. Marvin’s work has been recognized both locally and nationally earning awards for his work in helping water systems achieve compliance and in improving treatment plant performance.
